Game of Thrones followers may have to wait another whole week to find out who will lead, who will fight, and who's romancing who on season 7 of the HBO hit, but one of the stars of the series just shocked fans by revealing her IRL romance. Actress Lena Headey just oh-so-quietly announced that she's engaged to childhood friend and filmmaker Dan Cadan-who popped the question months ago!
Headey announced her nuptial news just this week in a New York Times profile, casually revealing that she's actually been engaged for several months now. The low-key reveal makes sense for this leading lady, who tries her best to keep her private life under wraps, but just who is this man who'll be sitting beside Cersei Lannister on the iron throne?
Dan Cadan is a 42-year-old writer and director who has actually known Headey since childhood. Following her 2013 divorce from musician Peter Loughran, Headey and Cadan began dating and this spring, he popped the question.
"I always said to him, 'Don't ever ask me to marry you, it's a disaster,'" Headey told The New York Times. "But it actually feels really wonderful."
Now, months into engagement, the bride-to-be has even settled on a wedding date. Headey and Cadan are planning a wedding for next summer in 2018, according to the NYT.

Let's just hope it doesn't turn into a red wedding, shall we?… But if Headey is looking to add a dose of Westeros into her big day, she need look no further than this Game of Thrones -inspired wedding a pair of super-fans in Knoxville, TN threw (see video below). These two had dire wolf stand-ins, Ned Stark's sword, and even an edible dragon atop their wedding cake. You can view more photos of Alyssa Celeste Wall and Dylan Richardson's fantasy wedding here.
