If you think Barbara Bush's new husband is the only one in the family with jokes-think again. Chris Coyne may have used his wedding speech to roast his new father-in-law, but former President George W. Bush had fun at his daughter's wedding too.
Barbara's twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, has been flooding our Instagram feeds with photos from the secret wedding that took place at the Bush summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine, earlier this month. She's shared shots of the bride, the flower girls, and family portraits, and now, an epic photobomb from her dad.
“Thought this was just a simple picture of a sisterly hug,” Jenna wrote in the caption adding the hashtag #popsiclephotobomb. The photo was supposed to be a sweet moment between the former first daughters that was quickly made comical when dad stuck his head in there and another family member threw up a peace sign behind them.
The jokes apparently didn't stop there. In a recent interview with NBC's Megyn Kelly, Jenna revealed that after Coyne's roast-where he used the phrase "misunderestimated,” referencing President Bush's infamous statement that “they misunderestimated me" on the night of his election in 2000-43 threw in some jokes during his own speech.
“As the lonely artist in our family, I'm thrilled to have another sensitive soul with whom I can relate," President Bush said referring to his new son-in-law's screenwriting career. "Plus, it's nice to know someone from Hollywood who kind of likes me.”
Beyond the former president's self-deprecating jokes, the rest of the wedding was a lovely intimate affair. Barbara described the wedding to People as a "very short, sweet ceremony" with only 20 people making the guest list.

The wedding was quick, just like the couple's romance. According to People, the wedding was the first time Barbara and Coyne went public with their relationship. They were only engaged for five weeks and met less than a year ago on a blind date. Coyne popped the question in Kennebunkport over the summer, in the same spot where George H.W. Bush proposed to Barbara's grandmother 75 years ago.
“It's just been a very sweet romance,” Bush told People. “And we've been long-distance for most of it-he's been in L.A. and I've been in New York-but we've gotten to spend a lot of time together.”
